What types of animals can I hunt?
We offer both small animal and large game hunting safaris. Small animals include rabbits and hares. Large game includes Red Deer, Fallow Deer, Himalayan Tahr, Chamois, and Wallabies.
Are your hunting safaris suitable for beginners?
Yes! All safaris include full safety instruction and expert guidance. No prior hunting experience is necessary. We ensure every guest is confident with equipment before starting.
Is firearm training included in the tour?
Absolutely. Each safari begins with a detailed safety briefing and rifle training suited to the type of animals being hunted and your level of experience.
What’s the difference between small and large animal safaris?
Small animal safaris are shorter (approx. 2 hours) and focus on pest species using small-calibre rifles. Large game safaris are full or half-day tours and may include helicopter access to remote locations. Prices for large game vary depending on the animal taken.
What’s included in the price?
All safaris include guiding, equipment (rifles, scopes), 4WD transport to our private hunting zones, and a photo of you with your trophy. Large game hunts include a daily guiding rate and an animal fee.
Can I keep the meat or antlers from my hunt?
Yes, you may keep the trophy. Our team will assist with basic field dressing. If you want professional taxidermy or meat processing, we can help arrange that separately.
Is the hunting ethical and environmentally responsible?
Yes. All hunting follows strict conservation guidelines. Our safaris contribute to pest control and support the ecological balance of our high-country station.
Where does the tour start?
All safaris begin at our check-in office at 48a D’Archiac Drive (inside The Cairns Alpine Resort), Lake Tekapo.
Is helicopter access required for large game safaris?
Not necessarily. Many areas are accessible by 4WD. However, a helicopter option is available if you’d like to reach more remote hunting areas or enhance the adventure.
Do you offer tours in Chinese?
Yes. 中文狩猎团预定 is available upon request. Please let us know when booking if you prefer a Chinese-speaking guide.
